Juniper: Change of static WAN IP


Given remote Juniper VPN appliance, change of static WAN IP from ISP A to ISP B.

  1. MUST have a laptop @ remote site with stable connection for remote control.
  2. Ensure Juiper box is connected to the existing ISP A router.
  3. Remove Juniper box from VPN domain.
  4. Using the onsite laptop, console into the Juniper box and change the static WAN IP from ISP A to ISP B with the following commands:
    # set interface ethernet0/0 ip [IP/subnet]
    # set interface ethernet0/0 gate [IP]
    # set route 0.0.0.0/0 interface ethernet0/0 gate [IP] pre 20
  5. Update the Juniper NSM (Management Console) with the new ISP B WAN IP.
  6. Physically swing the WAN connection to new ISP B router.
  7. Reboot remote Juniper box.
  8. Re-establish VPN domain.
