Configure static IP for interface


To configure a static WAN IP interface for linux machine, assume eth0 is the interface:

# ifdown eth0
# vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

DEVICE=eth0
TYPE=Ethernet
HWADDR=00:40:D0:6E:2F:98
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none
IPADDR=192.168.0.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
BROADCAST=192.168.0.255

DNS=165.21.83.88
USERCTL=no
IPV6INIT=no

# ifup eth0
